Installation...
At Pearce Hire we understand the importance of getting an installation right first time. All of our Project Manager’s have extensive installation experience as well as production. We are able to install the full range of technical infrastructure including Lighting, Audio, Rigging & Video systems.

Recent installation projects have included a complete lighting & audio installation for Peterborough High School, an entire cabling systems for both the main rigging grids in the Liverpool Echo arena, drape and track installation for Stamford New College and a complete overhaul of their theatre flying system at Peterborough Regional College.

Health & Safety is very important to us at Pearce Hire so you can rest assured that all work carried out complies and often exceeds the standards laid out in any relevant legislation and guidance. As were NICEIC accredited contractors you can be sure that all electrical work carried is carried out and tested to rigorous standards.

Please contact one of our experienced project managers to discuss your requirements and receive a competitive no obligation quotation.

Liverpool Echo Arena

Pearce Hire we’re contracted by Star Events Group to design and install a wiring system for the Mother and Daughter Grid at the newly built Liverpool ACC Arena. The design was split into 2 key areas, the Mother Grid and Daughter Grid, for the Mother Grid Pearce Hire installed power and low voltage control to 12 points. At the same time we installed Encoder data cabling to the 12 points and Load Cell data cabling to over 40 nodes that have been installed over the Mother Grid. These nodes allow the load on the mother grid (when in position) and the motors (When at loading height or whilst moving) to be monitored and if overload is due the system will cut out.

For the Daughter Grid Pearce designed and installed a similar system, based around 12 motors which can be moved to 40 points with pre-wired power and low voltage control as well as encoder data cabling. As well as this data cabling for the Load cells we’re installed, with 70 cells in total. Pearce supplied a custom built patch system for the Daughter Grid which allows the 12 ways of motor control to be patched to any of the 40 points installed. Using there knowledge of wiring systems Pearce managed to save a large amount of space on the patch system by using a 7-Pin Socapex system as opposed to the traditional 3-Phase and Low Voltage Control systems.

Also installed we’re custom built termination boxes for all points in the roof which comprise of Three Phase and Low Voltage Control, Encoder and Load Cell data points. The installation was made more complex as traditional cable containment on the beams was not possible as all cabling had to be contained within the I-Beams that we’re in the roof, so it would not pose a problem to riggers working in the roof and allow for all beams to still be used for temporary production rigging.

Kings School

Pearce Hire we’re contracted by The Kings School for a full technical refit of there main stage, including Audio, Lighting, AV and Rigging services.

For stage lighting Pearce Hire installed 2 Strand Wallrack 24 Channel Dimmers, offering the school a maintenance free dimming system and alleviating the need for a more traditional patch, with each circuit installed having its own dimmer circuit. New Lighting bars we’re installed over the stage, with 3 x 8 Way bars and 1 x 3 Way Cyc Bar, while 2 x FOH bars we’re modified from 5amp to 15amp circuits with cabling being suitably upgraded.

Also installed was a DMX distribution network to all key areas where DMX equipment was likely to be used both now and in the future. As part of this 2 x Martin MAC 550’s Moving Head Fixture’s we’re also installed FOH.

On the Audio side Pearce chose their proven formula of an Allen and Heath IDR digital processor coupled with Yamaha amplification. Also installed we’re flown Tannoy speaker cabinets (V12’s for main stage audio and V8’s for time aligned delays and side on configuration).

The front end to the IDR system was housed in two custom designed panels which reside on the stage and FOH, these provide full control over the audio system from either location as well as inputs into the system for day to day use of the space. Also built into the panels are Strand Accent panels which allow pre programmed lighting states to be recalled, removing the need for a control desk to be used.

Pearce also installed two Sanyo projectors, one for front on use and the other for side on orientation. These we’re coupled with electric screens and VGA inputs mounted on the custom panels that we’re installed.

After the initial installation Pearce Hire we’re contacted for a second phase of installation and sales. This including installing a mid stage Hall Stage T60 Tab track as well as suitable Black Wool Serge drapes to run on them. Also included were several lighting fixtures from Parcan’s, Fresnels to Profiles. A Full format 24 Channel audio console for use with full productions was also included as well as several Microphones and a 4 Channel Radio Mic rack.
